October 26 – Playoffs!

The Varsity girls will take on #2 ranked Portsmouth in a first round playoff game on Wednesday (10/27). Game time is 4:15pm at Portsmouth High School. In-person and telepathic support appreciated – come if you can!

October 24 – Season’s End for JV 1 – A Bit More for Varsity

JV 1 finished up their season with a fun day (Saturday 10/23) at the Salem JV Tournament. The girls emerged with a an overall 1-2-2 record for the day and finished the regular season with a 5-6-2 record. The girls showed that they are a solid D 1 side and that they will continue to compete in the coming years.

Varsity needed to win or tie their final regular season game (vs. Nashua South, 10/23) to advance to the D 1 tournament and responded with a dominant 5-0 win. The girls finished the regular season at 5-9-2 and will play on the road in the D 1 Tournament’s opening round on Wednesday 10/27. Time and location to be announced.

October 19 – Schedule Changes for JV 1 and Varsity

Please note the following schedule changes necessitated by a Field Hockey playoff game on the Turf this Friday (10/22):

• The JV 1 game (vs. Nashua South) previously scheduled for Friday has been canceled. JV 1 will be traveling to the Salem JV Tournament on Saturday 10/23.
• The Varsity game (vs. Nashua South) previously scheduled for Friday will be played on Saturday (10/23) at 11:00am on the HHS Turf.

and – remember that both JV 1 and Varsity will see game action this afternoon (Tues 10/19)vs. Bishop Guertin. JV 1 will be on the HHS Grass at 4:00pm and Varsity will be on the HHS Turf at 4:00pm – be there!

October 17 – Last Week of Regular Season

Both JV 1 and Varsity will play their final regular season games this coming week:

JV 1 – the girls showed steady improvement with powerful wins over Dover at home (6 – 0) and Manchester Central on the road (5 – 1) last week. Their schedule this week includes:

• Home match (HHS Grass) versus Bishop Guertin on Tuesday 10/19 – kickoff is 4:00pm.
• Home match (HHS Grass) versus Nashua South on Friday 10/22 – kickoff is 4:00pm.
• Saturday 10/23 – the girls will travel to a Jr. Varsity tournament at Salem. Details/schedule have yet to be announced, but the editor did notice something about a 6:00am departure time.

Varsity – the girls continued to experience the ups and downs of their journey into D 1 last week. In an epic – and injury filled – match, Varsity tied Dover 1 – 1 on Tuesday and had a disappointing road loss (1 – 2) to Manchester Central on Thursday. Their schedule this week includes:

• Home match (HHS Turf) versus Biship Guertin on Tuesday 10/19 – kickoff is 4:00pm.
• Home match (HHS Turf) versus Nashua South on Friday 10/22 – kickoff is 4:00pm.
• Varsity’s playoff hopes depend on results this coming week – stay tuned!

October 12 – Senior Night

A reminder that we will celebrate Senior Night this evening (Tues 10/12) on the HHS Turf following the Varsity game. We encourage parents of all seniors – and anyone else who likes our seniors – to be there. The event will begin at approximately 5:45pm.

• And since you’re coming out, remember that JV 1 will be taking on Dover at 4:00pm on the HHS Grass – and that Varsity will be taking on Dover at 4:00pm on the HHS Turf – be there!

October 10 – Catching Up Again

As October roles along, the JV 2 girls have finished up their regular season schedule and will move into their final week of activity in the coming days. Both JV 1 and Varsity have two weeks remaining in their regular seasons. All results to date are summarized in the results 2021 folder to the right:

JV 2 – the girls finished up their regular season on the road with a 2-1 win over Hartford on Saturday (10/9). The team showed steady improvement over the season and finished up with a 5-3-2 record. They’ll be scrimmaging JV 1 on the grass field on Monday (10/11) at around 4:00pm and will hold their final get-together on Thursday (10/14) afternoon after school. In addition, senior Iris Levey will be honored on Senior Night (Tues 10/12) at approx. 5:45pm on the HHS Turf.

JV 2 – the girls have showed that they belong in Division with a series of strong games in the past few weeks. Upcoming for this week: Tuesday (10/12) at home on the HHS Grass vs. Dover. Thursday (10/14) on the road vs. Manchester Central at Padden Field at 4:30pm. In addition, senior Rosa Gomez will be honored on Senior Night (Tues 10/12) at approx. 5:45pm on the HHS Turf.

Varsity – the girls have had ups and downs but have continually made adjustments and been highly competitive in recent game action. Upcoming for this week: Tuesday (10/12) at home on the HHS Turf vs. Dover. Thursday (10/14) on the road vs. Manchester Central at Gill Stadium at 6:30pm. All eleven of our seniors will be honored following the Tuesday (10/12) vs. Dover on the HHS Turf. Be there!

October 4 – Change for Tonight’s Varsity Training

Varsity venue and practice time for Monday Oct 4 have changed. The team will train in the HHS Weight Room from 6:30 to 7:15pm – no outdoor practice.
