As promised, Coach Alloway’s season wrap-up follows: “After two straight defeats, the Reserves were determined to end their season on a high note and did not disappoint the Dresden faithful, defeating Lebanon 4-0. Hanover virtually dominated the entire field of play. Anna Testorf recorded the clan sheet in goal. Defenders Jordan Ray, Freddie Tagupa, Ailia Hedgepath(assist), Enna Prak, Rose Luttmer, Whitney Ladeau and Bella Johnson played an effective high line. Ann Rightmire(1 goal, 1 assist) Britta Arvold (assist), Iris Levey(assist) and Haily Stewart(assist) controlled the midfield and sophomore Rosa Gomez put on a clinic recording 3 goals and an assist.
The team finished with an impressive record of 8-2-2 scoring 37 goals and allowing 10. Goalkeepers Lyra Bornholm-Collins and Anna Testorf recorded 6 shutouts. Rosa Gomez finished a breakout season with 14 goals and 2 assists while Freshman River Miles Finished with 8 goals and 4 assists. 18 players in all saw their names entered on the scoresheet and 9 players scored their first high school goals. The team must say ‘farewell’ to senior Alice Adams (2 goals,2 assists) who will graduate in the Spring. Assistant Coach Alloway summed up the season saying “The goals that Kelsey and I set for the Reserves are always the same. We want everyone to have a fun and positive experience and hopefully be better players at the end of the season than at the beginning. The winning record is certainly nice, but even more rewarding, was being with them every day and seeing firsthand how this group came together and obviously enjoyed playing together.”
